Recruit Questions: Question Types and Logic
Question Types
You have 6 question types to choose from:
- Radio (Single Select)
- Checkbox (Multi-select)
- Multi-line text box
- Single-line text box
- Number Box
- Slider (number selector)
'Required' field
Check the 'required' box, on each question. This will make the question mandatory for applicants.
Using Qualification Logic
For Radio and Checkbox questions, you control who qualifies for your study.
- Qualify: Answering this way makes the applicant a potential match.
-
Disqualify: Answering this way automatically marks the applicant as 'Not Qualified'. They can still complete the Recruit but will be flagged for you as Not Qualified in the dashboard.
For Checkbox (Multi-select) questions, you have more granular control:
- Must Select: The applicant must choose this option to qualify. If you have multiple 'Must Select' options, they must choose all of them.
- May Select: The applicant can choose this option, but it's not required for qualification.
- Disqualify: If the applicant chooses this option, they are automatically disqualified.
Using Skip Logic
Adding Skip logic is an optional step for you on your Recruit.
Indeemo tip!
1. Keep your Recruit simple - Save it for when you truly need it!
2. Ensure to add all your questions first, then add Skip Logic.
Skip Logic creates a custom path through your Recruit based on an applicant's answers, making it faster and more relevant. You can add Skip Logic to Radio (Single Select) and Checkbox (Multi-select) questions.
How it works:
- First add all your questions to your Recruit.
- Choose a question, check the Skip Logic box.
- A dropdown menu will appear for each answer option.
- Choose to jump to a specific future question or to the End of Survey based on that answer.
Best Practice for 'End of Survey':
For most disqualification criteria, it is better to use the 'Disqualify' option without Skip Logic. This allows the applicant to complete the Recruit Screener giving you a full set of answers for review. You may decide to loosen your criteria later and manually qualify them.
Only use Skip to 'End of Survey' for answers that are absolute deal-breakers, where you are 100% certain you do not need any more information from that applicant.
