Create and Publish a Recruit (Screener)

This guide provides a complete, step-by-step walkthrough of building and launching a Recruit (our word for Screener).

Before You Begin: Critical Preparations

To ensure a smooth launch, please follow the Critical Preparation steps here.

Building Your Recruit: A Step-by-Step Guide

From your main indeemo Dashboard, click Recruitment in the top navigation, then click the New Recruit button on the top right. This opens the 4-step builder.

Step 1: Details

This section captures the core information for your study.

These cannot be edited once your Recruit is Published.

  • Internal Recruit Name: A private name for your reference not visible to applicants (e.g., "UK Banking Study - Gen Z").
  • Target Audience: Choose B2C (General Population) or B2B (Industry Professionals).
  • Project Topic(s) (B2C only): Select topics to help match with interested respondents.
  • Research Methodology: Select In-the-Moment (App Based) Project/ Online 1-1 Interview
  • Time Required: State the total time commitment for the respondent (e.g., "60 minutes").
  • Incentive*: Add the amount (in USD) a respondent will earn for full participation.

You can choose to pay the incentive in one go or in stages.
  • Recruit Title: A catchy, attention-grabbing headline visible to applicants.
  • Recruit Details**: A concise, exciting description of your study. This is your opportunity to add some details and get applicants interested!
  • NDA Link (Optional): Add a link to your Non-Disclosure Agreement if required.
  • Researcher Name: The name that will appear on all messages sent to applicants.

*Incentives Explained

Respondents receive 95% of the specified amount.

  • A 5% fulfilment fee is deducted by our integration partner, respondent.io.
  • This is standard across all research projects recruited for by respondent.io.

All panel members/ applicants are made aware of this when they register to join the panel, and when they complete a screener.

**Recruit Details: Setting clear expectations

Clear communication in your screener and project is the best way to ensure both you and your participants have the same expectations.

  • Clearly state timelines for registration and completion of tasks, and define your required responses for each task.

This helps set clear understanding of expectations, and makes things easy for you to decide which of your respondents should be paid.

Step 2: Audience

Here you'll set the demographic and professional filters for applicants.

These cannot be edited once your Recruit is Published.

  • Target Number of Respondents: The number of participants you need.
The platform automatically sources double your target number to provide a wider pool to choose from.
  • Location: Choose the country and optional cities for your recruitment.
  • Other Criteria (Optional): Refine your audience by Household Income, Gender, Education, Ethnicity, and Age Range.

Pro Tip: If you need a highly specific demographic (e.g., exactly 25 years old, not an age range), it is best practice to also add this as a qualifying question in the next step to ensure accuracy.

Step 3: Questions

See step‑by‑step instructions for Recruit Questions: Using Question Types and Logic.

This is where you will add the questions that qualify or disqualify applicants based on their answers.

  1. Click Add Question.
  2. Enter your question text.
  3. Choose a Question Type (e.g., Radio, Checkbox, Text Box).
  4. Add your answer options.
  5. For each answer, set its logic to Qualify or Disqualify.
  6. Check the Required box to make the question mandatory.

Step 4: Summary and Publish

The final screen provides a complete overview of your setup. Review all details carefully.

The 'Audience Estimates' generates based on your audience criteria.

When you are ready, click Publish Recruit.

Your Recruit is now live with a status of 'Recruiting' and is visible to applicants.
